C-Channel Anti-Warp Bar, Slotted Steel Table Top Reinforcement | Black or White Powder Coat

C-Channel Anti-Warp Bar, Slotted Steel Table Top Reinforcement | Black or White Powder Coat

A laser-cut, formed, and powder-coated steel C-Channel that bolts to the underside of a slab tabletop to prevent warping, cupping, and splitting over time. Designed for large solid slabs where seasonal wood movement is otherwise inevitable.

The slotted holes do the structural work. They let the bar ride with the wood through expansion and contraction rather than cracking the boards. The 3mm wall gives it the rigidity to actually hold the top straight; a wooden batten or weaker cleat won't. The internal radius is kept tight at 0.5mm, so the channel can be routed flush into the underside in one pass if a flat-bottomed top matters for your build.

This is prevention, not cure. Once wood has moved, it's extremely strong and difficult to bring back. Finishes don't stop wood moving either: oil and paint do nothing structural, and varnish can make it worse.

18×40mm C-Channel section, 3mm wall, satin powder coat in black (RAL 9017) or white (RAL 9003). Suits indoor or outdoor use. Sold as a single bar; fixings sourced separately.
